CONFIDENCE INTERVALS FOR PROPORTIONS



PROPORTION - represents a part of a whole. it can be expressed as a fraction, decimal or percentage. 29%=0.29=29/100. Proportion can also represent probabilities.

             p = symbol for the population proportion
            p̂ = symbol for the sample proportion
